"There are two major categories of persons that a smart individual must learn to distinguish quickly, precisely and strictly , for his/her own sake and interest -no matter factors as intelligence, beauty, charm, strength or charisma. It is paramount that you do this distinction about their goals and methods in interacting with you, first of any other evaluation. How much they are brilliant or amazing is secondary; what they do with others and how they treat them matters, but at a lesser scale - what matters for your sake, first of all, is the way they deal with you and why.

1. Persons who do proactive efforts to convince you of their integrity respecting you, agreements and promises, because they consider your support and esteem as a valuable asset or desirable achievement in itself in their long term life. These persons are your friends and your tribe - if they aren't in your group, work to include them and reward their efforts to convince you. They are valuable and worth investment; they must be reciprocated in their constructive behavior towards you - they will do their best for the common good also in bad times, and they deserve to receive the same. They may be there exchanging value at personal level or for professional reasons, but at any rate they are trading on fair ground without fleeing with the bounty; and that's what you want in your life to be successful.

2. People who deceive, lie, mislead, betray or desert as soon as it is more convenient than making an effort; these are parasitary individuals who attempt to manipulate you with the purpose to use, exploit and extort from you, for the short term, or anyway for some material advantage, without interest in you as person. Whatever they claim, check the relation between words and actions, and overall look for patterns showing they are there only for practical advantages that don't bring you benefits. You're at secret war with such people; they are the hidden enemy: what they deserve is being deceived, abused and mislead outwitting their own attempts to fool you around, losing the very same advantages and resources that they were trying to steal".
